Private acting also includes preparation for Thespian competitions, either individual or group pieces.
PRIVATE DANCE Hour Classes
Studies show that participation in the performing arts increases a child’s verbal ability, expressiveness, reasoning, and logical thinking. The performing arts teach children about people unlike themselves: other times, cultures, ideologies. They learn to see, hear and think differently and gain valuable perspective on their own cultures and beliefs.
Studying the arts will stimulate and develop the imagination, as well as refine cognitive and creative skills. Performing arts encourages self-discipline, self-expression, calmness and fulfillment. The confidence that your child will gain from the performing arts will positively affect every aspect of their life.
Performing arts, like any talent, must be nurtured and practiced consistently to ensure the best possible results. It is suggested that those interested in performing should continually participate in any school or community program available, such as drama, dance, chorus and band.
CSI (Coral Springs Institute for the Performing Arts) is proud to be a flourishing part of the Coral Springs/ Parkland community, and is designed to offer children 5 - 19 years of age the opportunity to learn and experience show business first hand. Our NEXT STOP BROADWAY summer camp is a popular place to be, and our multiple sessions accommodate a variety of schedules. Summer shows allow our campers an introduction to performing, but studying during the school year is designed so each student is more involved and receives individual attention. All our programs culminate in full-scale Broadway style productions performed on a professional stage.
CSI is nestled at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts, a first-class performing arts facility, which includes a 1,471-seat theatre and the Coral Springs Museum of Art. The Center for the Arts is also home to Broadway tours, concerts, educational children’s entertainment and the Pops Symphony Orchestra. CSI is fortunate to be housed at the Center using the prestigious theatre, dramatic dance studio and meeting rooms for all our classes.
Coral Springs Institute’s program concentrates on what young people gain from their participation: confidence, creativity, enthusiasm, teamwork, inventiveness, quick thinking, friendship, communication skills, self-discipline and responsibility. These aspects of performing are invaluable in life, on and off stage.
Our Staff is not only professionals in their fields, but they are compassionate and dedicated teachers. Our students are important to everyone and “kids are not just a face,” but part of our CSI family. Studying theatre at CSI is different than just putting on a play – our shows are the vehicles in which we teach technique and the skills needed to perform. Our place is structured to be a safe and nurturing environment allowing children a place to discover and reach their potential, not just on stage but for life. The skills, friendships and memories learned at CSI last a lifetime.
